Psychotherapy & Counselling

Psychotherapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. It's a space where your thoughts, emotions, and experiences can be explored with care and without judgment. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, trauma, stress, burnout, or feeling lost in a life transition, therapy provides the opportunity to make sense of what’s happening — internally and externally. We work collaboratively, at your pace, to uncover what may be getting in the way of clarity, confidence, or connection in your life.

One to One Therapy

We all go through challenging phases and encounter painful experiences at different points in our lives. At times, this may include experiences that feel overwhelming, or leave us feeling unsafe in our bodies and disconnected from ourselves.

Sometimes, in our early experiences and relationships, something gets missed, and we may develop patterns or beliefs about ourselves and the world that no longer serve us. At certain times, it can all begin to feel like too much to hold on our own.

Therapy offers a safe, supportive space to slow down, make sense of your experience, and explore what may be keeping you stuck.

In the case of unresolved trauma or attachment difficulties, we will work collaboratively to develop your inner resources, supporting you to feel safer, more grounded, and better able to regulate your experience. Once these are in place, we can begin to gently process the trauma at a pace that feels right for you. This may involve, through mindful awareness, exploring how trauma is held in the body, supporting the completion of defensive actions that were not possible at the time, and gently working with the protective responses that developed as ways of coping and staying safe. Through this process, therapy can support you in feeling more empowered and confident, more present and safe in your body, and more able to trust your own responses. Over time, this allows for the integration of past experiences into your present life, and the development of new, more supportive beliefs about yourself, others, and the world. I work in private practice with adults and teenagers (17+) who come with a variety of life issues. I offer one-to-one sessions both in person and online, in English and Greek.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Consultancy

I’m passionate about helping you integrate Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) principles into your clinical practice, so you can feel more confident, empowered, and creatively engaged in your work with clients.

In our sessions, I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can safely explore, learn, take risks, and grow—mistakes included. Together, we’ll build the clarity and structure you need to deepen your understanding of SP skills and methods, explore case conceptualisation, and bring curiosity to the therapeutic relationship.

As a certified Advanced Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, I’ve assisted in both Level I and II trainings and bring extensive experience in working with trauma and attachment wounds. I offer one-to-one consultation sessions both in person and online, in English and Greek.

Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT)

Are you harsh with yourself? Do you find it hard to forgive, feel overwhelmed by stress, or struggle to connect with others? If you’re experiencing loneliness, anxiety, or burnout, you're not alone. Compassion—especially for yourself—is a powerful antidote. Compassion is innate. We’re all born with the capacity to care, but sometimes life’s challenges can cause us to lose touch with that natural ability. Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT™) is an eight-week, science-based program designed to help you reconnect with your inner compassion and extend it to others. By strengthening this capacity, you can reduce stress, build emotional resilience, and cultivate a greater sense of meaning, connection, and joy. Developed at Stanford University’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE), and taught worldwide by certified instructors, CCT blends insights from neuroscience, psychology, and contemplative traditions into a practical, transformative course. Through guided meditation, interactive exercises, group discussion, and reflective practices, you will learn to:

✔️ Reduce stress, anxiety, and depression
✔️ Quiet your inner critic and nurture self-kindness
✔️ Strengthen resilience and navigate life’s challenges more skillfully
✔️ Deepen relationships with others through empathy and presence
✔️ Enhance overall well-being, joy, and purpose

Baking Therapy

Baking Therapy is a creative, hands-on therapeutic practice where the act of baking becomes a gateway to emotional expression, mindfulness, and inner nourishment.

Rooted in trauma-informed, somatic, and symbolic approaches, Baking Therapy integrates psychotherapy with sensory experience. Through the textures, smells, rhythms, and rituals of baking, we engage not just the mind, but the body and emotions — opening new ways to explore themes of safety, regulation, connection, and identity.

It’s especially helpful for those who feel stuck in talk therapy, find it hard to put emotions into words, or simply long for a more grounded, playful, and embodied way to process their experiences.

FAQs

  • You can e-mail me at marily.lavidas@gmail.com, call me at +306970633850 or submit a request for a free consultation call via the website contact form here.

  • I offer a free fifteen minute consultation call. The purpose of this call is to help us both establish if I am best suited for your current needs based on my experience, training, and personality. It also gives you the opportunity to ask me questions about how I work and get a sense of what it’s like talking to me. If we establish that it is the case, we will then book an initial assessment session. Should I not be the best fit for you, I will give you an appropriate referral to someone else I think could help you.

  • The aim of the initial assessment session is for us to get to get to know each other and for me to understand in more depth about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve from coming to therapy. I will also learn about your current life issues, history and risks. Lastly, I will spend some time discussing the therapy contract, a mutual agreement between therapist and client, which ensures a safe, professional, and clearly defined experience between the two. Before the end of our session I will share with you how I think therapy can help you and agree together on how to proceed with treatment.

  • A session is 50 minutes long. Initial assessments sessions can take up to 75 minutes with no extra charge.

  • My fee will be discussed during the consultation call.  Sessions are paid by cash, bank transfer or credit card.

  • I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, so if you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, you will be billed the full amount. When you notify me on time, if possible, I will try to reschedule you to a later time during the week.

  • Yes I  offer online sessions via Zoom or Skype. You will be sent a secure link to click on at your appointment time.

Testimonials

One of the most important decisions I took during a challenging period of my life was to enter the psychotherapeutic process with Marily. She is always there to listen to all my thoughts and tries to understand me without judgment. I feel that there is a place and space where I can be myself, be honest about my needs and perhaps for the first time really feel heard. I thank her for helping me discover what it’s like to be accepted by others for being myself without trying hard to please them. She helped me understand and embrace my struggles and was always there for me even during my most challenging times”
